“Nola Hatterman ontmoet Maud de Lang kort na haar emigratie naar Suriname. Ze blijven vriendinnen. Op 8 mei 1984 hoort De Lang dat Hattermans levenloze lichaam is binnengebracht in de kliniek van Paranam. Op haar borst lag dit portret, dat ze had willen aanleveren voor de groepstentoonstelling ‘Identiteit’, in het Surinaams museum. Onderweg verongelukte de taxi waarin ze zat. Hat’terman was op slag dood. Het portret is nog altijd beschadigd.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nola met with Maud de Lang shortly after she emigrated to Suriname. They remained lifelong friends. On 8th of May 1984, De Lang heard that Hatterman’s lifely body had been brought to the clinic in Paranam. On her chest lay this portrait, which she had wanted to submit for the group exhibition ‘Identiteit’ (Identity) at the Surinamese Museum. The taxi she was travelling in crashed on the way and Hatterman was killed instantly. The portrait is still visibly damaged.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
